Demographics:
People all across the globe burn candles...some on a daily basis. This business appeals to both the candle lover (because of the clean burn and incredible fragrance) and the business savvy entrepreneur.
Primarily our business plan attracts men and women between the ages of 18 and 64 who wish to start their own home based business.
Our retail customer base crosses all economic lines. These consumers typically range in age between 18 and 62 and are shopping for gift and personal items that increase the value of their dollar. These customers buy Gourmet candles to scent their homes, as gifts and to elevate their moods.
Market Share:
The largest gourmet candle company in our industry reported over $700 million(1) in net sales for fiscal year 2006 and the second largest over $600 million(2)
for fiscal 2006. With approximate sales in the U.S. of $2 billion annually(3) that means market share for the above two companies combined capture 65% the U.S. candle industry (35.2% and 34% respectively). Plenty of room for our company to capture a good portion of that market.
Our company's goals:
Our company's outlook and goal for the next 10 years is to capture $100 million in sales. In 2006 we reported $10 million in sales(4) and we are currently on a 40% growth track. To reach our goal of $100 million we need at least 43,000 independent distributors. Currently we are comprised of 7000 distributors for all of the USA and Canada. We need SIX times our current number of distributors to reach our gaol. Saturation certainly is not an issue with our company.
